Of course not, or they'd be called Catholic.

They're close, but not exactly the same. . Heres a crude breakdown... feel free to correct me. . Henry VIII of England wanted to get divorced and wasn't allowed to in the Catholic so he kept killing his wives... repeatedly... he created the Anglican church so he could. . It therefore makes sense that they'd have most of their 'beliefs' in common. . 'Some' major differences off the top of my head: * Divorce is allowed * Mary is a less significant figure in the Anglican Church. * The body of Christ is not shown on the Anglican cross, because he is risen. *Women Priests and Clergy are allowed. *Birth Control is permitted. . . . What's probably got you asking is that Anglicans recite the Apostles' Creed, which reads: "...I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic Church..." . In this case 'catholic' means universal church, and not catholicism. . Again, this is not an 'academic opinion' but should answer your question. . -noise . http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anglicanism http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apostles'_Creed http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Henry_VIII_of_England
