When was the last time you spent the night in a nice motel/hotel just to get away and relax? Just to get out of town and do something fun, different?

I had a free night at a hotel downtown (not that far from home, but it was a "getaway") that we used in December...the night we had tickets for "Wicked." It was a nice night out...despite the fact that there was also a snow storm! But, we had paid good money for the tickets, and were not going to miss that show!

Last October I spent the weekend at The Jefferson, this fantastic ritzy hotel in Richmond just to get out of Va Beach. I went to the spa there and everyting. Well, I also had a baby shower to go to in Richmond that weekend, but I only live 2 1/2 hours from Richmond, so there was no REAL need to stay over. Nevertheless, it was a great (albeit expensive) little break!

About a year and a half ago we went to NYC and stayed at the Hilton Times Square. Best part it was pretty much free. Between building up points and miles from business travel, we only paid for food and a show. This soming weekend I'm burning off more points and miles to go to So Cal and I'm taking my Mom!

A friend of mine lives 2 hrs away and has a cat (I'm allergic) - so instead of staying with friend, I stayed at a hotel for the night & enjoyed the amenities .

It's been a long time...but this coming Thursday...aka...Valentines Day...my bf got a hotel room for us for after the concert...

Never. Never owned a car or even had the opportunity to have an apartment to need to get away from. I live in military dorm's anyway, so if I ever tried to get away for a little while, I'd likely either be considered AWOL or called back into work on one of my days off.

I think about it all the time. I'm a mother of three and I homeschool them and sometimes I find myself dreaming of going to a hotel alone and getting a break.

June 23 2008 . I never miss a vacation. I'm a former travel agent and I've seen how it works magic on people.I can leave town in the foulest mood on earth and return a completely different person!!!!!!!

Early January of this year. My husband and I went to a hotel for two night. It was heaven. We chose one with an indoor pool and a hot tub. The hotel was practically empty and we had the water to ourselves both nights.
