Just a PS on this one; just looked out side (daybreak here) and the sky is very pink. The weather folks are calling for some nasty stuff later today; tornadoes have already hit west of here . . . :-O

When the dew is on the grass, rain will never come to pass. Rain before 7, dry by 11. (well except if you live in Northern Ireland, when it might be changed to "Rain before 7, dry perhaps 3 months later for a brief 5 minute period before it starts raining again" - not as catchy, but probably true)

I know the same one as you except it says, Rainbow at night, sheperds delight, rainbow in the morning, Sheperds warning. Then there is, a red sky at night, tomorrow will be very hot. Full moon, no fish today.
