  • And your vet is correct. Some dogs not matter what you do keep on having recurring bouts of yeast infections. http://www.dogearyeastinfection.com/what_causes_a_yeast_infection_in_your_dogs_ear.html explains where yeast infections come from. That site has other helpful hints that MAY help: http://www.dogearyeastinfection.com/ I would suggest that you do try changing the diet, do try vitamins and minerals and even the vinegar ear wash. 9 times out of 10 what we put into the body has the largest impact on what comes out. In the case of your dog if you rebalance the diet it may be the thing you need to rebalance the number of other helpful critters that comes along with your pet (and you).
  • We had a dog with recurrent yeast infections, open septic water was the culprit. They crave the saltiness. When we fixed it, the problem disappeared.
  • im not a vet, but with people, when they keep getting the same infection over and over again even with treatment, there is always an underlying problem being overlooked.
  • My dog is just about to run 7 years old (human years) and ever since he was a small puppy we had the same problems with his ears, it is very sad to see him go through it.. But.. For the past 3 years he has been on Performatrin Natural (lamb & brown rice formula) and has barley gotten any since, instead of getting surolan which is $40.00 a small bottle(excuse the spelling) I clean his ears out every Monday. He just seems to get a build up inside his ears so we clean it regularly and keep his diet the same.. Best food ever.. P.s there is very effective ear cleaners at half the price you get from the vet, you canget it at your local walmart.. Hartz is the best I have found. good luck!
