Every time you "yo yo diet" it takes longer to lose the weight. To get past the plateau, you have to workout more.

I have been on the Induction Phase of the Atkins Diet for almost a week. Because I tend to hang on to my weight and have a harder time loosing it, I have chosen not eat any carbs -just protein and fat( other than the carbs that may be present in the protein I'm consuming...no sugar drinks,why am I gaining and not going into ketosis??...I'm not on any medications either that may interfere ( just birth control pill only)...qny suggestions?? thanks! i agree that the weight loss is lower the 2nd time..i am back om atkins and gone down to 15 net carbs and a more intense workout to lose more weight quicker

A lot of people seem to have the same problem. Some people have gone to Atkins' 1972 or to zero carb (the Bear's diet). It's extreme but for some people seems to be the only way they can lose. i did almost no carbs--only salads with ranch, lots of meat, heavy cream in my coffee, 6 eggs mixed with cheese and meat and a jalapeno for flavor.....and i exercised everyday--sometimes walking up to eight miles-- i was so excited to weigh myself after sticking to it religiously for about 2 weeks ( and ultimately for about one month) was utterly devastated when the numbers on the scale didnt reflect my diligence--not even a little.
