I was looking at laptops, what would be better? I narrowed it down to Panasonic toughbook or Macbook Air.

The Panasonic but try and avoid Windows Vista just now and get XP sp2 on it if you can.

If you want PC, the Panasonic, get the GNU operating system for it. In my opinion, the Macbook Air looks way sicker than the toughbook, just because its so small, which is dope. Either way, stay away from Windows when you can have a similar, better operating system for free!

Panasonic Toughbook 52 is something different all together it's like comparing a truck with a Ferrari. Toughbook is not light, small or cheap. I would suggest getting two MACbook Airs' before buying a Toughbook W7, T7, or 52. The Y7 is comparable but I still would go with MAC OS any day, Microsoft Vista is not an option. If you get the Panasonic please install some flavor of Linux, because there’s no point protecting the hardware if the software is vulnerable. I purchased a MACBook Air from http://i-bucket.com/ with a bunch of accessories, it's an eBay site. It has a few limitations, like the DVD drive and ports. Other than that I like it, oh yeah small hard drive, I add a keyboard protector and shell and I am good. I hope this helps.
