Yes. It was called depression. There was a time, though, that I worked with and dated a person who later was convicted of murder. It could have been me, as the circumstances were identical. Also, one very dark night after I'd crossed over a railroad track, I felt the swoosh! of a train rushing past me; it shook the car, that is how close it was. I hadn't seen any lights or signals. I pulled over to the side of the road and when I stopped shaking, continued on with the rest of my journey.

I had a shallow blackout in a pool and nearly drowned >.<

Yes. I fell down a mountainside and my feet smashed into a boulder at the bottom. If I had been head first at the moment of impact there is no doubt I would have been killed. If my feet had been in the air I would have fractured my spine and probably have been killed.

A few actually - First, I fell about 25 feet off of a rock cliff about 6 years ago while rock climbing. I landed on my feet, shattered both ankles, broke my pelvis and fractured three vertabrae. I was in a wheel chair for three months. Second, and scarier yet - I made dinner one night at my apartment, but when I went to shut off the stove I didn't shut it off all the way, the flame went out, but the natural gas was still pouring out. I went to bed that night (with my door closed) - got up in the morning and thought to myself: What is that terrible smell? I told myself that I'd deal with it when I got home from work that night. I worked my 10 hour shift - came home, and was disgusted by the smell. I checked the garbage, the disposal, the fridge, the bathroom - i couldn't figure out what was causing the smell. I went into the kitchen to grab some matches to light a scented candle - on my way back to the living room I noticed the dial on the stove (matches in hand). I shut off the stove and was speechless! I opened up all the windows and turned on all the fans. I sat on the couch for a long time thinking about just how close to death I had come :)
