Remove it. Anytime a fish dies, whether the tank is old or new, you should remove it as soon as possible. Do a partial water change of 50%, but don't disturb the gravel. From here you can either: Buy more fish. Finish the nitrification cycle with commercially bottled bacteria starters. Finish the nitrification cycle with commercially bottled ammonium nitrate aka ammonia. Seed the aquarium with some gravel or filter media with existing bacteria from an established aquarium. There are different guidelines for each of these. Research which method is right for you. There is another method that I don't recommend. That is using flake food for the run in cycle. It's a dirty alternative and isn't highly reliable.
