If you are looking for someone who is honest, then what are you doing only telling your potential dates your good qualities? (If you do do this, that is). Why should the other person be honest with you when you won't even be honest with him or her?

Well, honesty comes w/ potential. I will tell you my good qualities--and you will see by my example. No one really has a good idea of themselves we are always learning. So time tells us when honesty can not.
