When the Earth was formed, the entire planet was molten from the impact of millions of "planetesimals," or asteroid-like bodies that coalesced via gravity to form our Earth. It has been SLOWLY cooling ever since. 4.5 billion years later, the crust of the planet has solidified, but the core is still molten.

Radioactive decay of heavy elements which sank to the core of the Earth.

Mmm... the molten core would be my guess.

The thought force of God!

Magma. The very hot molten matter of the earth that lies beneath the cooled crust we live on. Material from the original ball of gas that the earth coalesced from a few billion years ago. The internal energy of the earth does not 'drive' our dynamic earth independantly. The sun also contributes to the dynamics of our atmosphere. One without the other would produce much different results. We would not be here.
