Why do Americans like to drink coffee more and Brits tea?

I dunno I'm an american teenager and I like to drink tea. So do most of my friends. Some of us will drink coffee if we're tired, but most of us will drink tea when we're tired, cold, sick, or jsut for no reason. American teenagers (at least the ones I know) drink tea alot, its teh adults that don't.

Probably stems from the tea tax that you guys inflicted on us once upon a time. We probably just got used to drinking coffee because of it and it was passed down from generation to generation. That, and we're close to Brazil so we get the good stuff fresh. :D
