  • No, but the only reason to use them is to be smutty. It's not like these words come up in casual conversation.
  • If the words are used in proper context, it does not make me uncomfortable. When you are referring to a medical problem, either word will be perfectly acceptable.
  • Using penis or vagina shouldn't place you in an uncomfortable situation. These are the correct terms for genitalia, why not use them? It's a shame that we create other words to replace them because we can't muster up the nerve to explain to a child what is in between their legs, what defines them.
  • Not at all..they are the correct words to use for discussing relative topics. I use the terms Bitch and Dog when teaching a class on canines! Where it can become uncomfortable is if the TOPIC is not a suitable one for the current company you are in at the time you use them!
  • I feel comfortable with using words like those to my family...but that's because my family is very open. However saying vagina to a friend (boy or girl) I get very embarrassed..But I think that's because I'm a girl- I don't mind saying penis in any conversation -medical, friendly, even formal-. So It depends on the person- and sometimes the place.
  • Not at all. They are correct terminology.
  • Nope. I like the use of pure vowels though. "pen-is" "va-ghina" ;-)
