Anyone else have the ISP Wide Open West? If so have you noticed any curving of your (if you do use) torrent data? As in it's been blocked? If so please post here.

i have wide open west and live in the detroit area. yes i use transmission on my mac 24/7 the fastest download speed i have ever got with a torrent on with wow service was 1mb of course it was from japan. i usually get 10kb, i have tried every internet service and torrent program. no luck. so i am just thankful i can get HD movies for free and i just wait a week. p.s. i am going to talk to my practical law teacher who happens to be a lawyer and see if there are any laws that might help me to get the service i signed up for and the 6 meg connection my contract states.

I am in the Metro Detroit area and just switched from Comcast to WOW for HSI. I hadn't been using it before but just decided to do some Torrent Downloads this week. Well... my wife logged on and got a message in the browser talking about WOW's Terms of Service and that it had been detected that illegal file sharing had been going on and how evil it is, etc. And as part of it they basically said that they'll give us the benefit of the doubt this time but if it's detected in the future, our service could be cancelled without notice. I never used it via Comcast... so I couldn't say if they were doing the same, but I did use it quite a bit before I moved when I had AT&T DSL and there were no problems. So... lesson learned and I guess I'll stay away from it so that I won't end up having to shop for a new ISP.
