Televison shows have definetely highlighted the public's interest in police forensics. a police profiler, if this is your question, ia an occupation that does not occur overnight. a police forensic profiler can be a sworn law enforcement officer or a civillian. cities have one or the other or a combination. a sworn law enforcement officer, assigned to forensics, first has to complete the police academy in their department. second, an associate degree is also required in most police departments. third, experience, either on the police or civillian level. fourth, and most important....a natural gut feeling that occurs each time you enter a crime scene. its like a sixth sense, thats aquired or developed. Needless to say, a police forensic profiler, is an interesting, everchanging occupation. no two days, no two hours are the same. Note if the sight of human blood and decaying bodies makes you vomit, you should consider not becoming a police forensic profiler. it comes with the territory. For more in-depth information, contact your local or state police.

Stand outside an abortion clinic with a sign that says "Stop the Killing" oh wait you said profiler, dyslexic moment...I'd suggest a degree in psychology with a minor concentration in something related to logic, forensics, or criminal justice.

Go to college and study psychology and criminal justice to start with. That's what I did, and profiling was my plan.

Modern criminal investigations are increasingly making use of the 'Profiler'. This is a professional, usually a psychologist, who forms an opinion about the character of the as yet unidentified perpetrator of a crime. Based on evidence at the scene of the crime and the body of the victim, the profiler will paint a picture of the type of suspect the police should look for.
