Oh my. The problem with this open ended question is that it asks for a "supernatural" explanation, be it religious or esoteric. The real reality is that nobody knows for sure. What WE KNOW is that there's a physical world out there that creates beings in a 'natural' fashion. Cats make cats, dogs make dogs, people make people. Natural forces are created by natural energy fluxes: hurricane and tornados are created by wind pressure differentials, gravity affects sea tides, etc etc etc. If you believe in anything supernatural, be it god or whatever, you can attribute whatever you want to it, but that's no guarantee that's a correct answer.
