  • no, because it was your choice to refuse it. it's a sign of respect, letting you be buried in the government owned land, but it is the govenrments, not yours, and you never own it
  • No, it is someting nice that they are doing for the veteran, but it an offer to take it or leave it. I see from above that you can be paid 150.00, it is not much, but since you have refused what they do offer, it is better than nothing. May I ask why they would not want to be buried in the veterans cemetary, I always thought that that was an honor? Is it to be close to the family plots?
  • No, because burial in a national cemetery is a benefit. Veterans are entitled to burial in any of the 130+ national veterans cemeteries, depending upon availability of plots. In some cases, spouses are eligible for burial also. My Dad, a veteran of World War 2, was buried in a small rural cemetery. I purchased the grave site (for $75) and the Veterans Administration paid for a brass military marker noting: a) branch of service (Navy), b) his rating (Seabee Construction Electrician), c) his era of service (World War 2).
