  • The proper question is "Where do you live?" The "at" is not needed in that question.
  • Well, the preposition is unnecessary, and the sentence also lacks a subject, which probably should be "you." In my opinion, a preposition is a terrible thing to end a sentence with.
  • A variation of this is joke: A Harvard freshman gets confused and lost on campus. He approaches a professor walking by. Frosh: "Excuse me, can you tell me where the library is at?" Prof: "Young man, you are now at Harvard. We do NOT end sentences in prepositions." Frosh: "Oh...in that case...Can you tell me where the library is at, a$$h..e" . ...;-D...
  • You could just say "Where do you live, loser?" You don't even need "at." But I don't always agree with not being able to have a preposition at the end of a sentence. Like if I said "Who the fuck are you looking at?" I would have to rephrase it to "At whom you are looking, what the fuck?" See? That's pretty lame.
  • I recently attended a seminar where I learned that grammar rules have changed quite a bit and it's now ok to end sentences with prepositions. I didn't realize that language rules change but they do. I also learned that it's ok to start a sentence with a preposition. But who knows what that is about. ;)
  • OH! My cousin from Arkansas just sent me this great joke that goes with this question! A couple from Arkansas and a couple from the East Coast were seated side by side on an airplane. The girl from Arkansas , being friendly and all, said, "So where ya'll from?" The East Coast girl said, "From a place where they know better than to use a preposition at the end of a sentence." The girl from Arkansas sat quietly for a few moments and then replied: "So, where ya'll from, bitch?"
  • It's not even English, let alone proper English.
