  • I'm not going to neg this because it may be a legitimate question. I would check on Amazon.com or other sites like that - but be aware that there are plenty of books aimed for young adult that deal with "Realistic" situations for the under 18 crowd that aren't quite so negative. The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants series is one of those.
  • A really good book that matches that description would be Go Ask Alice; it's the anonymously written diary of a girl who becomes addicted to drugs in the 1970s.
  • Purge, Such A Pretty Girl, anything by Ellen Hopkins(My favorite author ever), or Patrick Jones, and Kevin Brooks. All amazing books you should read. Oh, and Living Dead Girl, and Willow.
  • I know you say fiction, but check out Starving For Attention by Cherry Boone O'Neill (think that's her last name)-Pat Boone's daughter. It is the best & over-the-top anorexic book...& true!
  • Perks of Being a Wallflower (drugs, sex, rock and roll) The Lovely Bones (rape, sex, love, spirituality) Staying Fat for Sarah Byrnes (violence, discrimination) Looking for Alaska (love, drugs, alcohol, suicide) All four of these books have made me cry. I highly reccomend them all, particularly Perks and Looking for alaska.
  • Speak Crank Go Ask Alice Flyy Girl (urban teen novel)
  • Speak (rape) Long Live the Queen (abuse, PTSD) The Hanged Man (rape, eating disorders) and other books by Francesca Lia Block Drowning Anna (bullying, suicide) I've read lots more, but I can't think of them right now.
