What is Posi-Trolling? I'm new and I'm not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing. Would you mind explaining to me how Posi-Trolling will help me make friends and feel at home?

I like the idea but selecting a candidate can be a challenge. One time I saw some senior Answerbaggers talking about random points fairing, and the idea captured the spirit of my wings.

DO NOT POINT THIS ANSWER! Fridays will be considered Posi-Troll a Newer Member Day! Let's choose a newer member (lvl 30 and under?) and browse through their contributions. Maybe somebody that one or several of us have come across in the past week who might have caught our attention through the quality of their questions and answers, or because of their friendliness and politeness. If you have any nominees, feel free to post them in commments below this answer. Please read below because I believe there may be some controversy with this idea... My intention for PTNMD was not for people to go into a newer users profile and just start passing out random points. My hopes were that other members would browse through newer members' questions and answers and give points to the contributions that they think deserve them. The thought behind the weekly PTNMD was that the "posi-trollers" would meet and greet, answer questions, make comments on answers to questions, and open up some conversations with the "posi-trollees". Maybe some will exhaust their +'ers on them... maybe some won't. I have already gone through a few newer members' activity and I have awarded points when and where I feel they are necessary. For some I have given the maximum points allowed and for some I haven't. I think this is how it should be done.

I sure will! As a fairly recent member who was introduced by a friend and warmly welcomed by many, I think it is a wonderful idea. This may be a really dumb Q, but how do you find the newer members?

That defeats the purpose of the point system. Points should be earned for intelligent/humorous questions and/or answers. If money were free, it'd be worth nothing.

I'm in but do you think its fair to just do it to new users? What about other people like me who have only been here for less than 2 months
