  • When it starts eating away at your sleep time and insinuates itself into your day-to-day. A buddy of mine got progressively into World of Warcraft until it took up a lot of his sleep time. He'd come into work half asleep and he got caught several times asleep on the job. Plus he'd talk to his buddies in WoW via VOIP guiding them through an instance or giving them tips while on the job.
  • when you cant stop doing it, and you think about it constantly and no matter what yoiu try you cant get away from it or give it up
  • all you can do is think about it. you use it to make you happy. when you do this habit almost all day every day.. its like smoking or drugs or alcohol. its not good if your a addict. but there is help i go to AA and it is a very good program they do not judge you for who you are they accept anyone and everyone. and its not just for alcoholics its for any addicts
  • Usually a habit becomes an addiction after 11 consecutive samples, from what I've experienced... :-)
  • When you think of the habit as need instead of a want. for example "I've gotta have my cigs before I sleep" instead of "I'd like to have a cig before I turn in."
  • Any habit can become addiction. It can be something bad like drugs or smokeing or it can be something Not so bad like biting your nails or wathing too much tv but any kind of habib ( not so bad and bad) you have to stop
