Before you joined AB, did you read through certain members answers and questions and based your membership on that, or did you just dive in?

i spent about three hours checking out different sites first-i was a yahoo top contributer but the place has gone downhill a long ways and was looking for something a lot more mellower-with out signing in i check out this place and enjoyed a lot of the comments from the people who were on here-then i jumped in and havent looked back---smile and enjoy the day

I checked it out for about 5 min, when someone referred me to here. Then i jumped in.

There wasn't nearly as much to read in 2004. I dove in.

I found it on a friend's recommendation (thank you, Lazarus) and explored it off and on for several days before joining. I was involved with Yahoo for a short time. AB feels more like a community and disagreements seem to be done more respectfully. And I really like the "comments" option.

I just took the plunge. Then I read the blogs (the interesting ones). I also checked out the profiles of the top users, to see their style in questioning and answering.

I joined without looking it over much. But I wasn't active with Q&A's for about a week. I spent time reading other Q&A's to get an idea of how AB works.
