Obama says he if he is elceted president, he is going to bring home the troops by 2009, does this scare you or do you find it to be a good thing?

We created the mess, we need to clean it up before it become a bigger mess. I worry if we leave it will get worse and we will have to go back and pay with an even greater loss of life.

Lies, lies and more lies and its scary in the sense that they do it without hesitation so so matter of fact. He'll bring him home alright and that's if he absolutely does not run into any opposition in the process which will be impossible. Did I sound too negative just now?

We are having little effect over there now. It's like cleaning a counter with a dirty rag. We invaded the country on false premises and we can no more solve a civil war there than we can in any African country. I think an ordered, well-planned exite strategy is the best we can do unless we plan to occupy the country indefinitely.

I think this sounds like a plea to get more votes. Whether he is elected and actually does this is unknown at this point...Right now it is all about getting votes..promising anything ..regardless of which side you are on.

Just like Bill Clinton said he'd bring home the troops from Bosnia in a year, (we're still there) I don't think Obama will will bring the troops home in 2009. The current plan is to start downsizing our presence there. Maybe that's the fig leaf he'll hide behind.
