When you lay down for a nap, your body is confused into thinking you are trying to sleep like you do at night. In other words, when you fall asleep, your body prepares to shut down for a serious sleep session, mentally and physically. Therefore, when you wake up later that afternoon, your body feels like it has woken up before it was supposed to, giving you that "just woke up in the middle of the night" feeling. When going to bed at night, try to set yourself a resonable bedtime to ensure that you get quality sleep at night so that your body isn't craving it during the day. Limit your caffiene intake and quit after 12 pm. There are medications now specifically designed for daytime fatigue too. If you talked to your doctor about daytime fatigue, you'll be prescribed a drug that will help you stay alert and feel more energized during the day, and in return, getting a better sleep at night.

That depends on how long your nap is, if it's longer than 45 minutes you have probably reached a deep stage of sleep causing you to feel sleepy. You need to sleep in the 2nd stage where your body gets energy. That means you do not need to nap more than 45 minutes. Napping that lasts 10-45 minutes is good, it will make you wake up energized. People that take short naps, also called "power naps" claim that they need less sleep during the night.

i've always heard that if you are going to take a daytime nap, do not sleep more that 20min. the reason is; any shorter is too short, any longer, you will wake up feeling more tired. try it and see.
