I just watched 28 Weeks Later. I liked it for what it was, but does anyone else think it was a bit much?

It certainly wasn't as good as the previous movie. I didn't think the plot was as good. They kind of just gored it up a lot more than the original...It could have worked if they'd focused a bit more on the plot, I think.

Not really. It was very different tonally, since it dealt with things on a much larger scale. The part where they blew it was at the very end, where we see the Infected rampaging in Paris. As Sgt. Farrell rightly pointed out in the first movie, there's no way the Infected could get all the way to the European mainland on their own -- they're in no condition to pilot planes or boats, and I doubt one would have the focus or determination (much less the stamina) to swim the English Channel.
