In 2004 Bonds became embroiled in a scandal when Greg F. Anderson of the Bay Area Lab Cooperative, Bonds' trainer since 2000, was indicted by a federal Grand Jury, and charged with supplying anabolic steroids to athletes, including a number of unnamed baseball players. This led to inevitable speculation that Bonds had used performance enhancing drugs, during a time when there was no mandatory testing in Major League Baseball. Bonds protested his innocence, attributing his changed physique and increased power to a regime of body building and legitimate dietary supplements. Speculation only. It is interesting to note that he comes from a family of great baseball players (Dad is Bobby Bonds and Reggie Jackson is his cousin). Steroids? Genes? Who knows!

In light of "Game of Shadows", the book written by two San Francisco Chronicle reporters, there is no longer any doubt that Bonds cheated. There are literally hundreds of pieces of evidence linking Bonds to illegal substances. From growth hormone to steroids, he took it all. Federal evidence includes doping schedules and receipts for shipments to Bonds. In addition, there are also eyewitness accounts of him injecting himself. For anyone to say, at this point in time, that there is any shadow of a doubt with respect to Bonds' guilt, shows they either have their head in the sand, or are just plain lying.

No, he takes Human Growth Hormones. Steroids are detectable.

Without a doubt!

No man can be that muscle bound without cheating mother nature. Like the other answer it probably isn't detectable within the standards of streroid testing. Remember that Barry Bonds has his own special attorney. Do you remember the Mad TV skits about Barry Bonds?

G'day Sleidman, Thank you for your question. There are certainly reasonable grounds for suspicion. According to Wikipedia "Since 2003, Bonds has been a key figure in the BALCO scandal. A number of journalists have long alleged that Bonds used steroids as well as other performance-enhancing substances, but to date, Bonds has not been charged with any crime in connection with the BALCO incident, nor linked by other than allegation to any chemical abuse. The steroids he is accused of taking were not outlawed by MLB at the time he allegedly took them; however, they were and are illegal in the United States without a prescription. He is also under investigation for perjury by a federal grand jury regarding his testimony before the 2003 grand jury investigating the BALCO case, in which he denied using performance-enhancing drugs." Best wishes Wikipedia Barry Bonds http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barry_Bonds

I believe the leaked grand jury testimony from the BALCO case indicates that Bonds admitted using two substances called "the cream" and "the clear". While Bonds denies knowing that these were steroid-type performance enhancing drugs, BALCO employees admit that these contained a 'designer steroid' called THG. There are also published reports that Bonds took other steriods and human growth hormone. Of course!!!!!!!!!! How many men do you know pack on muscle size as they get OLDER? His head is freakin huge and just look at a photograph from 1990 and then 2004 and you will have your evidence.

I thnk he used HGH. His shoe size grew from a 10.5 to a 13. I can see a man having the physical body to grow muscle in his 30s. That is possible, but does working out make your feet grow? I don't think so.
