  • I am going to go out on a limb here and assume that you meant Frogs, as in the species known as a tree frog. These little guys are actually working for you. They like munching on mosquitos, helping to keep you safe from little inconvienences like..ohhh...west nile virus and nasty bug bites. Short of using pesticide and killing everything alive on your property for a brief period, why not instead give those frogs an alternative home. One that they would go to rather than your window. Here's one suggestion. A tree frog hotel. http://www.usatoday.com/news/nation/2004-06-27-pool-frog_x.htm It keeps them alive and well, your yard with less mosquitos and the frogs away from your windows. Edit: This question had changed a bit since it was first asked. Initially the question had to do with frogs on her window, hence my answer about tree frogs. The rest of my answer , however is applicable to all frog species. They're handy to have around.
  • Smashed up eggshells around the edge of your garden. Natural, and keeps frogs, snails etc. out.
  • As the above poster said, the frogs are doing you a lot of good. As an "indicator species" they are one of the first species to die off when an environment becomes polluted. I remember my grandmother bringing my mother a big bucket of frogs so we could have them in the garden and yard. (Mom was organic and anti-pesticide/herbicide LONG before it was hip!!). I never hear frogs in the evening now... too much pollution here in the SF Bay area :-( They may be a bother, but their presence means a lot of good things!!
  • DO NOT KILL THEM!! You can get rid of frogs by spraying heavy concentrated salt water in the areas you do not want them. The salt water burns their feet & they will not come back. You can also put salt rock in the areas you are having problems with, this too burns their feet or skin & they will not return. Make sure your plants can handle salt water b4 spraying. Frogs are on an endangered species list due to the ozone/pollution factors. There are many frogs that are endangered & we must not kill a NATURAL pesticide. Frogs eat bugs, cockroaches, slugs, mosquitoes & other garden pests. Do not leave food or water bowls outside (PET), remove wood piles, dry up wet areas, make a wet habitat away from your house (this will attract them away from windows/front porches/etc). Frogs are generally a blessing to those who have a garden due to bug control. If you have a pond then you will always attract frogs. Trap them HUMANLY & release them into the wild, prefferably by lake, other ponds etc. We all must learn to live with mother nature. You can also call an animal shelter, animal control, koi pond shop, pet store etc. asking them how to humanly get rid of frogs. Thank You. Schroeder (DJ WACK "O")
  • Kiss them they might turn into handsome princes!!! :)
  • Frogs are an extremely beneficial eating tremendous amounts of insects which are NOT beneficial to your lawn, flowers, shrubs, etc. You should be doing everything possible to encourage frogs to protect your property.
  • I feel privelidged that (our) frogs return every year to our garden pond and leave us thieir babies to watch and wonder over for months until they are hopping mad all over the place, even into the house sometimes. It is a responsibility and they are a pain when we have to pad the lawn with our hands before using the mower. But I wouldnt change it for the world. The last few nights we have had frogs arriving for their annual orgy and as orgies go they are pretty subdued as far as noise go but mental to watch. 5 clumps of tadploes have been left so far. They are great! and not ugly at all. Yip they also are a great gardeners friend and keep lots of garden pests under control.
  • You all are really crazy, I hate them and my children wont go on the deck out back during the summer. I MUST KILL THEM, or go insane. HELP PLEASE. I love my new home and I dont want to move.
  • Well obviously word got out about you kissing that one that turned into a prince, so you're just screwed now. :-)
  • Kiss them and they will turn into Princes. Or is it that you will get warts? Oh dear I now do not know what to advise!
  • If they are bullfrogs, thwack them, and have a mess of froglegs. :D
  • Dear Dear MZGIBB, Your children are afraid of the frogs because of YOUR attitude and reaction to the frogs. Relax and enjoy the world you live in. Use the suggestions people have given you here and get your children involved in helping you with a water area or building or painting a "Frog Hotel". How fun would it be for the children to build a little city for the frogs at the end of your property. While your doing this explain to them the importance of frogs presence on this earth, that everything has a purpose. Good Luck and be Grateful for what you or we have. Peace
  • Oh yea it's a little different when they are under your home constantly making noise's keeping my family awake croaking all night and day, i wish they were gone.
  • Call your local wild life nuisance trapper, he/she may be able to relocate them. But, they have probably laid eggs somewhere so be ready for the next generation. Do not kill them, they are good for bug control and won't hurt you. If you are afraid of them, just give it some time, you can get used to them. And remember that they are more afraid of you than you are of them. Funny thing about us humans is that most of the time we learn to adapt.
  • Why would anyone want to get rid of frogs? They are eating hundreds of ugly bugs in your yard every day. People love frogs, go catch one and play with it, make it your friend.
  • bb gun... dedication...
  • I think he talking about the big bull frogs, which sit in the pets water or food bowls at night killing your pets, I have lost two dogs to them, and now everynite , I have to chase them. It either the frogs or my dog and I choice the dogs.
  • i have lots of tree frogs on the rim of my patio door. When i open it many fall on me and it freaks me out. if i sit on my patio, they fall on me. i am scared and grossed out by them. How do i get rid of then so i can sit on my patio in peace?
  • Stop kissing them ;)
  • Owls and Hawks will eat them, so you could try attracting whatever kind you have locally. I wouldn't ignore them like some have said. I love frogs myself, but if you have a lot they will attract snakes, who also love eating them.
  • dont dare kill them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! frogs r gods animals and they were not made to be killed they do no harm to humains exsept that fact that u do not like them u can spray salt water on the place were u r having this problem that will burn there feet and will drive them away or if u r not afraid to touth them u can get them and bring them to a local pet store were there they will live peacefully and find a new loving owner who will take care of them good luck with that!!!!!
  • The frogs in your yard and actually serving a purpose. Frogs eat bugs, if you lose the frogs, you gain more bugs. I would leave the frogs in your yard. Besides that, nature has a way of dealing with it's own, snakes and birds of prey will catch some of your frogs to keep the numbers in check.
