Guitar. It's so much nicer tp sing along with, do cool finger tricks, etc.

I've played both, but I prefer guitar because you can play songs on it while you can only play bass notes on the bass. Also, I like to sing and strum guitar - my singing just doesn't sound right when I sing and thump on a bass!
