I will go to bed and turn on a radio at a very low volume so you have to concentrate to listen the the music.

Take 2 benadryl tablets (25 mg). If not effective, add motion sickness pills (2 at 50mg of dimenhydrinate). Non addictive and safer than sleeping pills.

When I can't sleep I take Tylenol PM, but I don't have any and I can't take it anyway today, because I will be sleepy at work tomorrow.

I believe that if you really need sleep, you will fall asleep. If you don't fall asleep, then you don't really need it, by definition. The problem is that it might catch up with you in the middle of the afternoon. I'm lucky, because I am a stay at home worker, so if I need to take a nap I can. Look on the internet for some good falling asleep tips.

i watch some tv and then usually i wake up and ita 8am and the tvs still on

When I can't get to sleep (which is often), I will either watch TV, go online, or eat (or all three at the same time). *SMILES*

Reading something boring or funny works for me. When I used to have a job I'd occasionally get home in need of sleep so I'd just go right to bed without bothering to eat or do any other daily household stuff. I found that knowing I had at least 6 hours to get to sleep greatly reduced the deadline related causes of insomnia.
