The best thing you can do is to consult them to find out your options. Many places will let you keep the animals if they are not a nuisance to other home owners. So much depends on the pets - their size, behavior, noisiness and so on. You might be able to pay a monthly fee or put money in an escrow account to cover any damages your pets might do, but you need to find out your rights and responsibilities. Depending on the agreement, they could force you to get rid of the pets or force you to move. You may have to get an attorney to advise you, but talk to the HOA first.
