Why would a person insist you stay late after work to do something you could have gotten done on Monday?

It is quite possible that he could have something else for you to do on Monday. Or you could be sick. Or he may need to prepare for an important meeting on the Monday over the weekend. There are many many reasons why.

Because they are inconsiderate of your time. It used to drive me crazy when my boss did that. It happened to me everyday. I eventaully found a new job.

Their job depends on it? They make money if you do? You have other things to get done on Monday? All of the above?
