Help answer this question below.

Is there a best free web hosting service, or are they all the same? (If you're recommending a specific site, I don't know how to write HTML, so a basic one, please.)

    There's free ad-based ones like yahoo geocities or AOL spaces, but if you look around you can find nitch hosters who offer up their space.

    For total control and no ads:

    For ad-based hosting with a pagebuilder

    i'd suggest atspace.com for a free host
    as for your HTML skills
    "teach yourself visually html" by Sherry Willard Kinkoph
    "Teach yourself visually HTML and CSS" by Mike and Linda Wooldridge
    "Create your first Web Page in a weekend" by Steven Callihan

    these books teach you HTML not only through plain English explanations but step by step picture direction as well

    best of all you don't even have to buy them, most public libraries have these books
