Maybe -- you'd have to get tested to show they were gone, and even then tests aren't 100% true. There's always a chance the bug still has some life inside your body somewhere. For e.g. HIV, can't be proved *for*sure* to be gone, because the only way to check would be to test *all* your blood. Blood tests only test a very small amount of blood.

Most of the time, yes, but some viruses such as those in the herpes family (chicken pox, herpes, glandular fever) sometimes make a resurgence in later life as shingles, and (possibly )chronic fatigue.
