I loved bellydancing. It's a terrific workout and if you share it with others, is great entertainment, too. You'll move things you never new you could and find muscles you didn't realize you had:-)

DO BOTH! I bellydance and do yoga. There is nothing better than a yoga warmup before bellydancing. It is better to have live in-person classes with bellydance. You really need someone to critique your moves. Although you tone the abdomen when you bellydance, you aren't going to emerge with a six-pack. Bellydancing is more about flexibility and isolation of the muscles. You will be able to more your ribcage, hips and arms with fluid movement like a beautiful snake. The legs and arms get very toned. Bellydancers make it look easy, but it isn't. Your entire body will become stronger and develop a feminine and toned shape. Bellydancers celebrate their bellies and don't have six-packs. A six-pack means tight muscles and bellydancers' muscles are flexible and loose. Don't think of it as a way to get ripped, think of it as a way to improve balance, strength, coordination and most of all, self-confidence. Bellydance really makes you appreciate your femininity and sexuality. Bellydancers come in all sizes and shapes. You will be developing a skill that is rare, exotic and always intriguing. Find classes near you now, you won't regret starting, only stopping!
