To prepare an agenda, make a preliminary list of the topics to be presented and decide how much time will be devoted to each topic. Come up with a name for the meeting/seminar/presentation. Often you need to check with various presenters to determine how much time they need. Keynote speakers are often featured in the title of your conference. The format can vary, of course. Here's a general one. The title, date and place should be centered on the page, and the time entries left-justified. "Vitruvian Man: How We Understand Anatomy" with keynote speaker Dr. Gray June 2, 2006 University of New Mexico Medical School Conference Center, 2nd floor 8:30-9:00 Breakfast burritos 9:00-9:15 Introduction by Dr. Leo Nardo 9:15-9:45 Powerpoint presentation: "Vitruvian Man" 9:45-10:30 Open Discussion: Analysis of the impact of "Vitruvian Man" on the medical community 10:30-10:45 Break 10:45-12:00 discussion groups (see conference materials for your assigned group) 12:00-1:15 Lunch 1:15-2:00 "Development of Anatomical Understanding" by Dr. Gray 2:00-2:30 Presentation of new technologies related to anatomical understanding by Dr. Goforth of Meditech 2:30-2:45 Break 2:45-3:30 hands-on opportunites with the new technologies 3:30-4:00 Question and Answer period 4:00 Adjourn Don't get too attached to your initial agenda - you may have to make any number of adjustments after circulating it among whomever has to be kept happy!!
