The similarities of policy advisors and as scientists are that in both capacities the economist looks at the trends of the consumer and the affect on the economy. The differences between the two are that as a policy advisor the recommendations that are given are for the government to make change for the good of the economies future. The scientists approach is a view of the affect as studies and data have shown from past and present models. The advice would differ in the manner of the result of such advice. To take the stand from a scientists view, this advice would be based on the results of studies. To take the stand from a policy advisors view it would be more from a proven statistics and opinion of those that compile the information.
