  • Most women lose their period as a result of rapid weight loss or rapid decrease in body fat. Most women can tell when ovulation occures because they have a clear somewhat sticky discharge, this has no odor and is completly normal. If you are ovulating you are still able to become pregnant. Contact your doctor and make an appt as it is unhealthy to miss periods. Good luck to you.
  • You don't say your age, but if you're in your 40's you could be going through what is known as perimenopause. This transition time can last anywhere from 5 to 10 years before menopause actually is final. If that's possible for you, the flow of your period changes or stops, but will start again on and off for months at a time. Menopause is when there have been no menstrual periods for 12 straight months. The average age is 50-52, with varying factors including heredity or smoking. I suggest you post your question on WebMD's forum to get someone with like experience and / or specific medical knowledge to help you. You still might need to go to your doctor to be sure you don't have another issue (either biological or physiological causes) that needs personal attention. Take care!
