Buddhism allows one to pick and choose whatever they offer that can help, since they truly and compassionately wish to help...be it a little or a lot. Most other religions operate along the lines of "follow us completely and blindly or you are doomed" since they lack enough prowess to actually stand on their own merit.

Because Buddhist see the interconnection of all as the whole in nature, and other Religions see the world with eyes with blinders on, created by a Doctrine that helps maintain the illusion that they aren't a part of the whole. I'd like to point out that the Latin root of illusion is ludere, which means 'to play'.

because buddhism's ethics are about contributing to one's own well being and that of others in all aspects as well as in sexuality. most buddhists accept homosexuality although some, like monks and nuns, do not participate in sexual activity at all.
