  • Excessive self-hate and excessive self-love are both suffering from the same disease: excess and self-centeredness. When I think everybody hates me, I try to remind myself that I'm probably not the center of their lives. Same thing when I think I'm the greatest thing since sliced bread. We're all just people, with strengths and weaknesses. Nobody is so all-fired important as to deserve the line "everybody hates me".
  • You can either do that, or you can get some other people to start hating you. I think the latter is healthier.
  • It's never alright to hate yourself.
