I do not know why you need the information. Either you are planning on hooking up two batteries together or you have a school project that you are working on. I think a picture is worth a thousand words, so I hunted up a few sites with good and decent illustrations to get the point across. to end I give a link to a Q&A between two students. One 8th grade, the other in college/trade school. http://sol.sci.uop.edu/~jfalward/seriesparallelcircuits/seriesparallelcircuits.html Scroll down a bit for diagrams of both series and parallel (Pictures are worth a thousand words). This may be educational: http://www.iit.edu/~smile/ph9113.html ;-) This too might help: http://www.bbc.co.uk/schools/gcsebitesize/physics/electricity/circuitsandammetersrev3.shtml http://www.allaboutcircuits.com/vol_1/chpt_7/1.html Seriously there are a lot of sites out there with diagrams and pictures. http://www.sasked.gov.sk.ca/forum/science/archive/messages/544.html Is a "discussion" between and 8th grader and an electrical engineer student on the subject (if this is a school project for you that may come in handy).
