I try my best to never let any responses here get to me, but it does happen occassionaly. We are all human and it's bound to happen sometimes, I'm sure that I may have offended someone once or twice...it's impossible to please everyone all the time.

Yes, of course. I'm human and I have sensibilities like anyone else. I read some responses to a question today that I found disturbing. I expect that kind of thing in a forum that attracts such a diverse group of people.

i have one guy that likes to come on a rip apart my answers by nasty comments but I tell you this, it only makes him look like a total moron when he does this and it makes me laugh because I just ignore him and then unsubscribe so I don't have to subject myself to more of his hateful rants... did that answer the question?

I flag offensive answers. I don't downrate. OTOH, I leave offensive comments alone. If they're happy doing that, I'm happy for them.

Yes. Some people go out of their way to be offensive, because they feel their self worth is only validated when they are acting in a passive aggressive manner. It is so pointless to argue over the internet. It's cowardly, in my opinion. Why bother?

Frequently. Particularly in the religious category or the religio-scientific categories there are many people that are adamant enough to be very rude. Most of the time being offended by someone anonymous online is pretty harmless though. Its posters like the ones I see most often that keep me coming back in spite of the occasional offender.
