Just because I can, I'll offer a counter-point. It is not necessary to delete cookies from your computer. In fact, 99.999% of cookies are nothing but helpful to your web experience. Although cookies can be used to track your web surfing, deleting them removes that ability for about as long as you stop surfing the web after deleting them. I can attest that I have never deleted a cookie from my computer(s) - ever. I am virus free, spyware-free and I have no issues whatsoever.
