  • Know of a similar problem. The newly-married couple had to get the divorce court to make a retrospective ruling on the divorce. That is, the divorce court made a ruling that the divorce was considered final as of a date earlier than the date of the current marriage. This was not an automatic thing and did require the husband to make a formal request for the order. There was apparently an appropriate statute or precedent permitting the divorce judge to make that ruling.
