Not in the slightest. That was a complete scare. The ports have as many Americans, or non-Americans, staffing them as ever, and are as subject to supervision by police and ant-terrorist organisations as much or as little as ever. That was s set-piece bit of populist foreigner bashing with no justification at all behind it. Foreigners don't have votes, so it costs little - politically - to piss them off.

Just remember that America buys something like four times as much in other countries as other countries buy in America. If other countries retaliated in kind, America would be a BIG loser. For example, Ford and GM are losing money in the US - all their profits are made overseas. If their overseas subsidiaries were taken away, they and their suppliers would go bust - half a million jobs lost in the US. Of course, sitting in the US, you cannot see the huge swathes of the rest of the world that the US owns - you only seen the little bits of the US that foreigner a own. Travel the world and it looks different.
