  • Usually after a friend has jokingly insulted you. Thats when I use it at least, and even then not much.
  • "Hey Sara, you are a jerk.." "Hey Bite ME!"
  • It's a slang term that's a more polite way of the derisive expression, "F**k you!"
  • Not an anglophone either! So I propose next time you get woken up by someone in a black cape with long white teeth you say "Bite me"! and as he leans towards you, you jab him with a wooden stick through the heart. :-D
  • I am a native English speaker and I would never use it. It is an Americanism, based on the 16th century English that forms the basis for their dialects (see Shakespeare for the use of the term as an example)
  • It's a way for someone to dismiss an insult. It's the first in a line of dismissals, going from "Bite me", "Kiss my ass", "Eat me," to "Suck my dick." Also, you get a bonus if you're a woman and you use that last one.
