It seems to me that people are often too offended by these words. They are just Words, composed of letters and take different meaning for different people. If you really want to eliminate the meaning behind the racial slurs, stop refering to them as "The N-Word" "Strong language is uses" All that nonsense on the news. Stop treating them as its some Speacial package of hate that "Offends" you when in the back of your mind you really couldnt give a damn what they say.

Language is incredibly important. No matter what the occasional psychologist may say, we think with words, and they affect the way we see society and people around us. Words can be loaded with implied meaning, and once that works its way into our unconscious, misusing those words can be a form of rape.

It's not the terms that are offensive, it's the meaning behind them and the way in which the words are used. Until people can let go of their fear of the unknown, racism will always be a part of our lives in some form or another. So why make things worse by using words that promote that type of fear?
