  • In my personal experience, it depends. Sometimes answering gets you more points, but at other times asking the questions gets you the most. It all depends on how many generous folks are online at the time, I think.

  • It's a combination of both. When you're here for awhile and develop friendships, those friends are more likely to be on the lookout for your questions and answers and rate them up. Whether they're good or bad? Many times, yes. I think so. But that's just reality. When you're dealing with people you don't really know, that's when the good ratings are probably more purely based on merit.
