  • I don't parallel park for fear of causing others "road rage"!
  • first go everytime .... its easy when you know how :)
  • I only have trouble with parallel parking when I have to back into a space. For some reason, it doesn't feel like it's according to Hoyle for me.
  • If I can't get it right on the first time (and I usually do) then I can't get it right at all after that lol!
  • Parallel parking was the only thing I received a bad mark for on my driving test. I passed my test, but I went to an empty parking lot and practiced for hours. I do it right first time every time now.
  • Depends. Some places have spaces that are over a car-length, allowing a nice S-turn in reverse. Others are only a foot longer than the average car and require a 17-point crab-walk. Around here, most parking is angle or perpendicular, but the few palaces that are parallel-park have 20-foot spaces; most cars are around 15.
  • Absolutely. My first 10 years of driving were done in London, and parallel parking is about the only way you'll get a space. I can get into a space that's less than a foot longer than my car!
  • 90% of the time, I get it on the first try! It's a gift. :)
  • First try every time. I've never had a problem with it.
  • Did anyone ever teach you the proper way to do it? 1. Pull along side the car that will be in front very close, the closer the better. 2. Cut your wheel all the way to the right(for rightside parking, obviously) 3. Back up until you front wheels are even with the back wheels of the other car. 4. Cut your wheels the other way as you enter the space. 5. Practice 6. (see step 5)
  • I can blind-side parallel park an 18 wheeler w/ a 70" sleeper and a 53' long 102" wide, 13'6" high dry box trailer 1" off a curb around a 90° corner...or at least I did once, likely just got lucky...but oh it was a sweet maneuver!
  • Most of the time I can parallel park on the first attempt but on occasions, I have had to try more than once.
