Cyber attacks on banks are not about spyware and viruses, they are usually more about exploiting vulnerabilities in the banks' servers or accessing data hosted on those servers either through a weakness in the network's security or by having obtained access fraudulently. Having anti-virus running on your computer protects the data on your computer, but has nothing to do with online banking. Online banking is secure by virtue of the means your web browser communicates with the bank's web server. As long as your user name and password are not easily guessed, you're alright (assuming you don't store your user name and password in an unsafe manner). So, the two don't have much to do with each other.
