  • Unless you want to dig 30 ft underground to get rid of there entire habitat and resoil the hole. Your better off either building a green house or moving you garden to a new geographical location.
  • a mixture of one part vegetable oil, one part dish washing soap( like Dial or Dawn) and one part water. Mix it together in a squirt bottle. I haven't used it on vegetables, but I use it on my roses for ants and aphids and it works wonderfully. Squirt it on the vegetables and it should keep them away.
  • draw a chalk line where you dont want them to go, good luck
  • Pour used coffee grounds or break open used tea bags over the opening to their hill. The ants will take it down for food, but since there is no nutritional value to either one, the colony starves and dies out. I've used this method lots of times. It take about a week or so but it works.
  • lay down strips of the anti static piece of paper you throw into your dryer.
  • Boil a pot of water and dump it on the ant hill. But do it after you stir up the ant hill dirt, it makes the ants mad and they come to the surface.
