Pour used coffee grounds or break open used tea bags over the opening to their hill. The ants will take it down for food, but since there is no nutritional value to either one, the colony starves and dies out. I've used this method lots of times. It take about a week or so but it works.

Boil a pot of water and dump it on the ant hill. But do it after you stir up the ant hill dirt, it makes the ants mad and they come to the surface.

Unless you want to dig 30 ft underground to get rid of there entire habitat and resoil the hole. Your better off either building a green house
or moving you garden to a new geographical location.

a mixture of one part vegetable oil, one part dish washing soap( like Dial or Dawn) and one part water. Mix it together in a squirt bottle. I haven't used it on vegetables, but I use it on my roses for ants and aphids and it works wonderfully. Squirt it on the vegetables and it should keep them away.

Tell them to pack their bags and get out. O.k. seriously now. Just use fresh mint, no more ant invasion. Just put where they are chit chatting.

If you have any cracks patch them.
Open food needs to be sealed.
Get rid of any standing water near the house.
Keep tree branches and bushes away fro the house.
No leave even a spec of food on dishes.

If you do get lucky enough to find a nest, pour boiling hot water on it. Cold will only keep them under for a while.

Fact if you weigh all the ants on earth, they will weigh more than all humans on earth.

The poor eleplants are killed yearly by ants. They enter the elephants ear and eat them from inside out. they wipe out a number of eleplants yearly.

Now we need to get rid of those ant hills. Take 1/4 cup of liquid soap, and 1 gallon of cool tap water, place these in a bucket and mix good. Next pour 1 - 2 cups on the ant hill. You need to repeat after 1 hour. You've got to make sure the liquid penetrates deep into the chambers. Good bye queens.
