When you lock a door with a key, do you push on the door to 'make sure' that it's locked? Why?

I push and turn the knob, why go through the motion of locking a door, just to have it not be locked, and it takes a second to confirm it.

Yes, all the time. I do it to "make sure that it's locked". I think you answered your own question. :)

Yes i do, i guess is because i have been doing it all my life.

Yes, I do!! The rest of my family has a reputation for bursting into rooms if they aren't locked properly, Most often bathrooms, and only if there's a shower going.
